New seaon 2 Audi!

New major patch for Audition yesterday!  It's Season 2 now!

As usual auto patching was stuffed, had to manually download the patch and run it.

Quite a big patch 525MB, but it was quite worth the wait.  Everything is so nice and slick now!

They redesigned the interface, it's still similar but looks nicer.

The resolution has been increased, and it makes everything looks smaller, the arrows and even the words in chat.
I think I am back to a noob as I am still not yet used to the 'smaller look', keep missing the faster songs.

AND THE BEST THING IS ... Korean songs are back! including the old favourites like Y, Temptation. Wohooo!!! I hope they stay for good!  Spent the last 3 hours going through the new/old songs, song list has at least doubled or more!

Ah I managed to break my first 1 mil in CC4 on the old song Rookie, heeeeeeee ^^V

Do you know..

I am currently reading an interesting science book, just thought I'd share some interesting fact...

Question: How long does it take light to travel from the centre of the sun to the surface?

Take a guess, answer in my next post

Long update! Part 1

Hey everyone, just realised it has been a long time since my last update.

I have been quite busy with work (ok excuses..), but really quite stressed out lately :(
So many issues to deal with at work, just felt like going on leave!

Where should I start...

Singapore GP weekend

Remember I said I was supposed to go to the Flyer on the Grand Prix day itself?  Turned out you need a F1 pass to even get into the Flyer. ZzZz..  Maybe I screwed up somewhere, but for something this important it sure wasn't that obvious on the website when I booked! But but luckily they were nice enough to allow me to change the date.

So making the best of it, had Tepannyaki dinner at Central Mall, not very impressed with the food.  Think the one I had over at Sakae is better...

The race had just gotten underway after dinner, I could hear the F1 cars even from Clark Quay!  Decided to see if I can catch a little F1 action so drove all the way up to the ECP Sheares Bridge.  It was slow moving traffic, I think everyone's trying to sneak a peek LOL.  I was lucky enough to see some cars coming down the homestretch at the Grandstand area.  The sound of the F1 cars are just so different from if you were to see if on tv!

Anyway managed to get home on time to catch the last 18 laps of the race.  Such an unexpected win by Alonzo! OK, I think I am going to the F1 next year =)

Sick Week

Been a long time since I updated!

I have been sick ah, this time for almost 2 weeks.  Quite long as compared to other times I was sick, must be the mooncakes... =(.  Better now but throat still feeling funny.

Also been a rough week for the financial world, 2 major, well established US investment banks are now no more in the span of 1 week.  Man am I glad I am not working for Lehman, imagine waking up one fine day and being told your company is bankrupt and closing down!!  No one expected the 100+ years old bank will collapse just like that, shows there's really no such thing as job security now =/

Yes the F1 weekend is upon us!  The anticipation and hype is really something, not to mention the traffic jams due to the road closure...  Going on the flyer on Sunday, hope can catch some F1 action up there!

Have an nice (and exciting if you are an F1 fan) weekend!

Give It 2 Me

Gotta love this funky song by Madonna, kept me going through my reservist =)

Happy Mooncake Festival

Eh still here lah LOL =D

OK dumb Scribefire just lost my last entry ggrrr, have to rewrite again!

Sorry was busy clearing my work after I return from reservist, yes been give a lot of "presents" after I come back ah.

Deadline was last Friday only and luckily managed to clear it.

~~

Sunday was Mooncake festival and as per yearly practice we had a gathering at my grandma's.

Lots of food as usual after the praying =)

Most of my little cousins are playing with candles and lanterns, yes the old candle type, not AA operated!  Where's the fun with batteries... LOL

It rained a bit just before evening time so it was nice and cool.  The sight and the fresh after-rain smell brought back memories of when I was around that age and living in the kampung still.

Yeah lots of space for us to run around and hang lanterns all over the place, those were the carefree days!

~ Wishing all a Blessed Mid-Autumn Festival ~
Did you tell your wish to the moon?
Hope your wish comes true! =)

See you all...

Sitting at MacDonalds now writing this post, waiting for the shop to finish servicing my car (just been told the damage will be around $300 =/)

Finally the long dreaded day will arrive tomorrow, actually half arrived last Friday where I had to do a 8km road march, legs almost died... heard coming friday got another march! God help me....

Will be busy today running around getting my army stuff ready, have to go down to Beach Road to get new stuff sewn onto my uniform zzz. Need to drop in office to check on my new pass, lost it last week =/ Perhaps catch up with YOU for a bit if you ever reply me haha.

I will be out officially on the 22nd of Aug (and weekends in between I hope), meantime all my friends please take care. Will MISS YOU all!

CCG

Yes it's the weekend again! Been a really tiring week...

Just got back from the Corporate Community Games where I took part in the bowling competition which held at Orchid Bowls@The Chevrons. Quite a lot of teams, just the men teams alone there are 44 teams, also have ladies and mixed teams events to be held tomorrow.

The top 8 mens team will get to compete in the finals tomorrow afternoon. Had an enjoyable time [free bowling =)], our team did not get into the finals (kinda expected LOL) but I think we did pretty well, ended up middle of the table.

I think I did quite ok, scored 133, 154 and 174, highest total pinfalls in my team :P But the competition is really tough, one guy in our lane partner team score 267 in the first game (7 x strikes, spare and some more strikes)

Wishing you guys a relaxing and fruitful weekend!

Bz Bz and Sick

Haven't been updating for a while ah, been quite busy at work. :/

Quite a few issues came up the last 2 weeks which I have to resolve, someone help me count how many new white hairs I got now. Finally solved and thought can have some peace for a while, then today a new issue.. @#$! Maybe I should apply to start my reservist earlier ... zZz

Been coughing for the past week somemore... haiz NO GOOD!

Still managed to catch Zohan and Hancock over the past weekends. Both not that bad, had a good laugh. Now to catch Red Cliff, Hellboy 2 and The Dark Knight =) Think I can cover them before my reservist? LOL

Was audi-ing just now, got new patch and songs. Ok dun quite like the few new thai songs on first impression, perhaps need to grow into them. Some minor interface changes but I dunno if is because of a lot of ppl or the new patch, now when I enter a room, lag for 10sec, after the game end, lag for 10sec again.. zZz totally not enjoyable

Oh I need to tell about this other person in audi I played with today, must be some kid I guess. This is my highlight amusement of the night. Snippets of conversation:

Him : Chance all the way, who stop lose, want to see how pro you are
Me : Err I noob

[obviously I ignored him and stop chancing on lvl 10 and above]

Him : You stop le, you lose

Me : ok watever... (I won anyway on total score)

Think after that he was a bit pissed cuz he can't beat me (a level 10, he was 16). Played another song and happen I chained a bit and I think he can't take it anymore...

Him : chaining now? must be someone else playing
Me : oh really

Me : anything you say..
Him : challenge 190 lah, dare or not

Me : dun dare

I think I probably annoyed the hell out of him by not taking his bait, LOL what's with people and 190bpm, can play 190 mean is pro? Frankly I dun enjoy 190 at all, takes away all the enjoyment. Anyway if you can't beat someone at lower bpm I don't see why you have the rights to challenge them to 190. By the way he has yet to win me... ^^V

So lazy to put up the vid I said I would :p ah here's something easier to put... 3 of us in Arena battle, nice kitties!

Self Test

Got this test off a friend, how true is it?

Your view on yourself:
You are down-to-earth and people like you because you are so straightforward. You are an efficient problem solver because you will listen to both sides of an argument before making a decision that usually appeals to both parties.

The type of girlfriend/boyfriend you are looking for:
You like serious, smart and determined people. You don't judge a book by its cover, so good-looking people aren't necessarily your style. This makes you an attractive person in many people's eyes.

Your readiness to commit to a relationship:
You are ready to commit as soon as you meet the right person. And you believe you will pretty much know as soon as you might that person.

The seriousness of your love:
Your have very sensible tactics when approaching the opposite sex. In many ways people find your straightforwardness attractive, so you will find yourself with plenty of dates.

Your views on education
Education is very important in life. You want to study hard and learn as much as you can.

The right job for you:
You have plenty of dream jobs but have little chance of doing any of them if you don't focus on something in particular. You need to choose something and go for it to be happy and achieve success.

How do you view success:
You are afraid of failure and scared to have a go at the career you would like to have in case you don't succeed. Don't give up when you haven't yet even started! Be courageous.

What are you most afraid of:
You are afraid of having no one to rely on in times of trouble. You don't ever want to be unable to take care of yourself. Independence is important to you.

Who is your true self:
You are mature, reasonable, honest and give good advice. People ask for your comments on all sorts of different issues. Sometimes you might find yourself in a dilemma when trapped with a problem, which your heart rather than your head needs to solve.

You are cautious and think twice about every action before you take it. You are also a very giving person, and are always thinking about how others are feeling.

- W A N T E D -

Just got back from a late night screening of the show Wanted.

It's ... something different, action movie with a twist (and lots of gore and swearing). Curving bullets... credits to the hollywood folks who came up with this refreshing idea!

I won't go into the story (not really much of one anyway), let the action speak for itself. What impresses me most is the big fight scene at the end.

He smashes through the window with guns blazing (100% hit rate, can't expect less right?)... and begin the run down this super long corridor teeming with baddies with guns. So he's shooting his guns off with obviously no time to reload... can guess what happen?

With amazing skills and accuracy he kills off the baddies and took their guns, not from the ground but literally from the air when it was thrown/dropped as they were shot down. Not once or twice... but all the way down the corridor... without ever stopping.

The closest thing I ever seen is in Chinese martial art movie where the hero kinda disarm the bad guys as he moves along. This is the western guy version... seriously cool action.

Conclusion : 3.5 stars, if you like action (or Angelina Jolie) you should enjoy this movie!

Cricket Match

Today was the "much awaited" cricket match within our department.

Our unit was scheduled on the first match at 8.30 am... nice and early (zzz). Put on my funky green team t-shirt (yes superb choice of color *roll eyes*, another addition to my sleeping clothes...)

I reached the grounds at Fernvale, near Sengkang, on the dot only cause I skipped breakfast LOL. Found out that we are supposed to be batting first... because half the team is not here, including the captain! -_-

Long story cut short, we did bad ... score -26 (yes that's a NEGATIVE). Ok maybe it's not that bad given half of the team has never touched a cricket bat before this... LOL

That's the first match... ended about 9.30 but gotta wait till 1.00 pm for the 2nd match, 3 cheers for good planning... =/ This will be the last match if we dun make it in the top 4, yeah right we will...

No prize for guessing how we did in the 2nd match (lost half the original team along the way and had to beg, steal, borrow players from everywhere haha). Still in the red but WE IMPROVED, by a bit! If this trend continues we should be in the black after a couple of years... hahaha

OK totally forgot about sunblock, I think I was pretty red after the match =/ hope I dun peel but hey a tan is always good ah! Hmm still wondering if I should put up the photos...

Test .. test.. TEST!

I have been doing a lot of testing and pasting lately... connection testing that is

[Me] test test
[Friend] test passed
[Me] (paste old messages that din get thru)

rinse and repeat... gggrrr

Sometimes this is really terrible, half the conversation is this! Jabber isn't terribly stable either! No choice as this is the only one I can use in the office =/

I hate losing messages, not to mention getting in the way of conversations! Just as irritating as talking over the phone with someone who you can hardly hear and have to keep repeating yourself.

----

On a more cheerful note, I caught Kungfu Panda yesterday!

Yes yes all thumbs up from me, very very nice, entertaining and funny. MUST WATCH!

More movies out this weekend, Zohan and Get Smart, can't wait to watch!

Oh yeah... cricket match on Saturday... sure kena trashed... haha

Pubbing

I finally saw the Audi R8 up close and personal! Really chio... when can I drive one... haiz. A pic of the car for those who hasn't seen it before..

It was parked alongside a small road in Tanjong Pajar when I was there with Va yesterday. Actually was supposed to meet up with Qi but she wasn't feeling too well =/ Hope you are feeling better now!

I was in the mid of cricket practice (we got an internal match happening with other units in our department soon). Ya I know what you are thinking... cricket practice? during office hours?? Hee yar thanks to our boss haha!

Anyway got a sms from Va and ended up having dinner near her place then ended up at her favourite pub over at TP for a drink. Small but cozy place, we played cards, sang some songs (open ktv). I have to say Va is good! When I first heard her sing I was thinking if the analogue is still on LOL. Really, no bluff! *appluase applause*

Reached home about midnight and was relaxing in the room listening to Olivia on the pc. Was chatting with ZiQi (as promised, no more short form :P) and she intro-ed me to her fav metal band and we ended up exchanging a couple of MP3s.

The band wasn't too bad, some irish/celtic elements in the music which I happen to like. Though I think need to grow into it as I dun really listen to metal much. Sent over some CO pieces to her too lol. Yeah working on your CO perception! :P

----

On a sidenote I was at the PC Show today. Unsuprisingly it looked very much the same as the one in March, I think they even reuse the decor, at least for SONY lol. Nothing new and did not buy anything... though there's this new phone I want to get... but still cannot recontract yet sobzz

Oh yar I need to try my Ninja Gaiden 2 on my XBox soon... nice nice..

Inter-bank League

Bowled my first series today in the Inter-bank bowling league our company is participating in.

Have to admit I did not do well... crappy to be exact =( My average score is about 130+, I can do better than this, perhaps it's a case of nerve as this is my first league game.

The opponent, UOB, did not help either, they fielded quite a strong team with an average of 170+ for each of the 3 bowlers. I dunno but I think they were really lucky on the lane today.

Sometimes when you see someone bowl you can roughly tell if it is most likely going to be a strike throw. A lot of the times from their throw I thought "that's likely going to be a split" or "that's not going to be a strike". Man was I wrong 80% of the time...

They strike like it's a normal easy thing to do. When it seems like a split throw, the pins just bounced back and knocked the rest down... and that happens a lot of times... WTH.. =/ Why my throw couldn't be like that???

Nevermind I shall do better next time! Gambatte me!

----

A quiet week at work this week, well in terms of msn at least LOL. Qi (-ice-) is busy with doing shipments most of the time, Va has gone MIA in the afternoon (zZzZz most likely) and ZQ has gone to camp. No one to keep me awake!

Haha ok lah not that bad, got my work cut out for me to do before I go for my incamp!

Monday Blues... or Green?

I wasn't at work on Monday...

Not sick, not slacking... but was called back for National Service briefing. Well actually it was a half day affair in the afternoon only.

I have to complain about these half day callup. How do you expect me to work when I have to report back to the camp at 1pm? If we count backwards, means I have to leave work around 12pm leaving me around 3 hrs working time if I reach work at 9am. Just not worth the petrol, so decided to take the morning off.

On hindsight I should have told my boss I will be working from home in the morning and save that half day =/ I shall remember to do that next time.

Got a 3 week in camp training in August... zZz. Ah well I am just gonna put it at the back of my mind for now...

Audi 1 year anniversary

It's been a year (thereabout..) since I started to play Audi, still lovin it but has cut down on playtime quite a bit..

Guess it started out as a "dam-if-i-will-play-this" type of game but what do you know, it's quite addictive. I like the songs (like it more before they remove most of the songs due to copyright issues). I like the game too because it is short, as in 1 song is 1 game, as compared to most of other games I played with can be long drawn out affairs.

I play Audi as a challenge to see if I can keep doing better. Glad to say I have a few notable "achievements" LOL (at least did not waste the year playing haha).
* Beat NPC in BP
* Million score milestone
* x18 perf chains

Ok I know I still owe some vids and pics of the records and I promise I will put it up soon! *cross fingers*

Another aspect of the game is the other gamers playing. I gotten to know a few good friends from audi (who all made me feel very old :P) Sometimes I wonder if I am one of the "oldest" player of audi haha. Nevermind young at heart can le hor?

Hope by this time next year I will still be playing and hopefully can be 8k pro too LOL!

----

p.s. Thanks va for the keypad, hope this one works! ^^

Do you like Chocolates?

Went to catch Chocolate yesterday, no... I am not chasing fallen Royce or Godiva ...

It's the new Ong Bak style Thai movie in cinema, just replace Tony Ja with a girl. Heard that she learn her skills from Tony though...

OK verdict... 3 stars. Quite similar to Tony Ja's 2 films (no surprise there..?) Series of minor fights throughout the film then cumulating in a major fight fest...

Frankly I still prefer Tony Ja... She's got the skill and moves granted but some things just doesn't look right. I think it's the way she beat up people.

The actress is quite a small size girl, quite thin too. So I guess when the guy flies when punched by her doesn't quite stick, given that I think it seems like a weak punch too... well I dunno, maybe she is really this good IRL.

If you like action and fighting, can try to catch this movie :) What's next up the list...

1. Indiana Jones
2. Don't mess with the Zohan
3. Get Smart!

How's this style of writing? More but shorter paragraphs. Better to read? LOL

Books and Coffee

DXJ happened to be working in town today and requested for a lift in the morning (this week must be driver week...). Picked her up around 8.15am and as she alighted, she laughingly said "So you can send me home later after work right?", I figured yeah why not (since it's driver week you know, LOL :P)

Reached office just a bit after 9am, for those that know me... that's pretty early by my standard! You know what? I am the 2nd person there, rest starting showing up from 9.15 to 9.30 LOL. Kinda makes me feel better because I am not "so late" everyday after all! haha excuses!

It was really busy day at work, I have just taken over work from a colleague who has just left the company (sob sob, he's a good friend as part of our regular gang, but people do move on...) It was a complex piece of work and i just happened to "catch it" as I have worked on it before him and also more or less finished my other work. So you know what I will be busy with next week...

Fast forward to the evening... picked DXJ at about 6.45 or so. She was hungry so decided to go to Book Cafe at Mohd Sultan nearly for a little snack. First time there for me, quite a nice cosy place. As the name suggest there are quite a lot of magazines for patrons to read while enjoying their drinks and food. I recommend it as a good place to chill out and relax...

She was happily trying out the WIFI on her *new* IPhone. Seems like everyone got an IPhone nowadays, I must say it's pretty slick, have to get 1 too... (another hint? :P) We shared a choc brownie and potato wedges. We did not expect the wedges to be such a big basket and the snack almost turn out to be dinner, we were almost bursting as we left!

We caught up on things and while eating I was browsing through Maxim and had a pretty interesting discussion about girls (...and related topics :P) which lasted the trip home LOL. Overall a short but enjoyable time at the cafe, we also agreed to go back to MoS one of these days, but dunno when that will happen haha!

Enjoy the long weekend everyone!

I still got it! Lucky only lah..

Recently I have not been playing audition much, I am back in my WoW phase grinding epic gears for my rogue. Grinding is hard work!

As yesterday was WoW maintenance day, I popped back into audi for a bit. Played BP with baby_bash (pro BP player :P), was good to play with her again, been so long since we last played. What do you know, I surprised myself by breaking my audi record, wanna make a guess? 2.7 million in 99bpm DBP, yay! Beat the NPC too, was very exciting as I am trying to keep ahead of the NPC lol. Will post pics and vid once I recorded it down...

---

Met up with TT for Ben and Jerry@Dempsey this evening too. We have not caught up with each other for a while as she was quite busy with school but now holiday so got more time (when she's not out partying LOL). JY in your project ya!

I hate jam...

The thing I hate about driving is the traffic jam, but I guess it comes with it, no escaping. I had to attend a training on Monday so have to leave the house earlier than usual, so I thought can give Va a lift to work as it is on the way.

The route from my place to the AYE was... TERRIBLE. 45 min after I leave I have not even enter the freeway !@#$. LTA please build more roads to Clementi, they are jammed like hell!!! Sorry Va caused you to be bit late for work (but I was even later, so paiseh when I enter the room at 9.23am... haha)

Va if I am giving u a lift next time I will remember to leave earlier and glad to see you are feeling better now :)

Bottled holy water

Wash your demons down

Sometimes you gotta be amazed how enterprising people can be... now why didn't I think of this?

But I doubt this will fly in sceptical Singapore, I wouldn't buy it myself, would you?? But then I am not a reglious kind of person...

Stay strong... I believe in you!

This song is for a friend who is going through a very rough patch now. Stay strong and take good care of yourself ok V...

Hang Over Weekend

Had a bad hangover on Saturday... puke twice and was concussed almost whole of Saturday LOL. Was out clubbing Friday night with DXJ and Kathy again ^^, this time to St James Power Station.

My first time to this club too (ok very suaku I know...) Reached there around 10pm and we proceeded to DragonFly first. Retro music was playing but the people aren't too happening though, no one was really dancing. I think everyone was just waiting for the live band to start which it did shortly. The whole atmosphere felt more like a concert (or ge tai..) rather than a club with the band and the stage in the middle. The crowd wasn't what I expected either, I expected more kiddies but then there's quite a few "mature" people there, probably to see the live band ba.

3 of us weren't very impressed and we left after 2 or 3 songs (oh the gals were waiting see Sly sing...zzz) After that we were like exploring the whole place, ok it's really a maze and easy to get lost if you are there for the first time. Anyway ended up at Powerhouse and had a couple of drinks and finger food there, and of cuz drinking games :) We downed about 3 jugs between us, and quite fast due to the games...so we are quite "sieh" already around 12 LOL

Va messaged me that she is coming down to SJ after another gathering so we popped over to DragonFly to meet up with her and 2 of her guild friends. Va kept running around to her many friends at SJ, so din really get to see much of her, too popular lah! Anyway we hit the dance floor over there and I must say we had fun and enjoyed ourselves. Left ard 3am? I think by that time almost concussed le, dun really remember much LOL.

---

Managed to be sober enough to catch the Forbidden Kingdom movie on Saturday night. It was... so so OK, 3 stars from me. Now waiting for Ironman to open next week and the new show from Adam Sandler, "You don't mess with the Zohan", looks damn funny!

---

Highlight of the week goes to... getting 203 for my bowling game! Yes must try to attain around this score all the time keke. Might participate in the inter company bowling league happening soon, more updates on that to come :)

Birthday!

Another milestone has passed and I am older by a year now. I don't feel that old but then... 31 sounds old... haha ZzZ.

Din really celebrate this year as my birthday was during my grandpa's wake. Only had lunch with family at Swensen together with an ice cream cake :) and then it's back to helping out at the wake in the evening time till late (Yup, just like you Va :p)

Thanks to all my friends who remembered... and those who didn't... nevermind I forgive your lapse in memory. Haha sooo thick skinnn :P What did I get for pressies... many well wishes, few cards, 1 pen and 1 shirt, not too bad lah hor... though no PS3 or IPhone.... :P

Goodbye Grandpa...

Grandpa passed away today in the hospital.

Got the message from my mum who was at the hospital then. I was kinda glad that I went down to pay my last visit the day before. Everyone is kinda expecting this day sooner or later but I guess even how mentally prepared you [think you] are, it still really difficult to let go when it actually happens...

On the other hand, I am happy... happy that Grandpa doesn't have to suffer anymore. If you had seen all those tubes sticking out of him and his labored breathing I think you would agree with me, even I can feel the pain :( Rest In Peace Grandpa, you will be missed by everyone...

To all who messaged me their condolences, I will be fine! Thanks for your concern :)

Qing Ming

It's Qing Ming festival this week and I went to pay my respect to my late Aunt. She looked after me when I was still a little boy but passed away when I was 14 due to heart complications :/ I don't usually go around Qing Ming but this year I thought why not, afterall it's the designated time...

I think I almost regretted my decision when I got on the way and nearing Bright Hill (Guang Ming Shan). The jam started right after turning off Bishan road, I was so tempted to turn back and come again another day. Totally terrible, took like 15 min to turn off a 50 meter stretch... zZz

Well since I already bought the offerings and stuff decided to press on and hope I can find parking when I reach the place, which I did, but paid parking... perhaps why less people wanted to park there on a Sunday (free parking at the HDB carpark outside). I would pay $1 anytime to skip waiting...

It was ... 人山人海 at the place (hmm I just realised I have no idea what that place is called...) They temple set up a huge tent at the carpark area and put a few rows of tables for people to make their offering. Managed to find a small space to make my offerings and then visited her urn. Did not stay too long, I can't really stand crowds!

---

As I was nearby AMK Hub then, decided to drop by the Fitness First gym over there. This is the first time I visited another branch of the gym outside of the one I frequent at Cathay. It was... the same lah haha :P except this branch has another studio for yoga and stuff.

I actually joined the BodyBalance class which is a workout combining Tai Chi, Yoga and pilates. First time doing this and I think I did pretty well, perhaps except the balancing bit. You doing balancing moves on one leg and at the same time straining your head to watch the instructor for the next move, I think you will fall too :P

Overall it was a good stretch workout for me that left me with side aches for a couple of days... hey means I did it correctly ;P

Funnnyyy

Here's a Youtube video on one of Jacky Wu's show, I hope you know Hokkien... (or at least maybe know how to scold :P) otherwise you wouldn't be able to get the joke! See if you can try not to laugh! [Translation here... but beware, it's... R rated LOL]

--

I love stick figure flash animations and here's page full of them. Must check out the first two Animation vs Animator flash, super cool. These people have too much time? But I gotta hand it to them for their creativity!

Arrghh slackkk

Ok got blogspot back at work but not blogger :/ (means can read but cannot post!) Well at least I got an excuse for not posting :P Here's a quick recap of what I wanted to post...

Last week...
Was at Wild Wild Wet on Saturday, 2nd time there this year. Was hoping to get a bit more tan but I can't see any difference.. :/ Much more crowded on the weekend as opposed to when I went on a weekday the last time, spent more time queuing for the rides..

Finally got a new set of speakers for the other comp. The JBL Spyro, dam chio speakers! I was getting bored of the conventional rectangular speakers and this caught my eyes, something different. Nice right?
Decided to get more active outdoors and got myself a pair of inline skates (and assorted gears) from K2. This is the entry level skates, was thinking after (if ever) I get better then change to the lighter (and more expensive) skates with aluminium frames. Been out with the skates about twice already and happy to say that I still can skate and haven't fell yet :P I used to ice skate a long time ago and the same skills can still apply LOL. Gonna take some lessons soon!

Hooters Chick Wing rocksss

Never knew Hooters served such good chicken wings! Was there on Thursday with DXJ, she finally gets to eat her Hooters chicken wings again... but not before making me wait an hour... nearly starved to death :P Now we are even ah!

Ordered some cheese sticks too and washed it all down with a bottle of Hoegarden, really good I must say! As usual Clarke Quay is packed on the PH eve. After that we strolled around a bit, was tempted to go to MOS again but in the end drove down to Dome@Dempsy Hill and had tea with fries and calamari rings while just chatting away about our work and life :) Too much heaty food, can feel a sore throat coming LOL

Set off for home around 12am, the TP already at full force with a road block just after the exit from Dempsy. They are really strict this time, but lucky never get pulled over for a test, but I should be fine anyway :P DXJ suggested St James next week... let's see how hehe.

We shall go back Hooters for the chicken wings again!

Old Age & Sickness...

Just visited my grandfather at NUH this evening after work. He's not in a very good shape, already in the hospital for almost a month following complications for his health condition.

He has become much frailer... feel so... sad(?) Seeing all the tubes coming out of his body and the respirator mask on his face... Does really make you think if this is how you will be like when you are old. I guess 人老了就是这样。。。

I think everyone in the family is expecting the worst... he has lived to a ripe old age of 91, which is more than enough for anyone IMO. I think he is contented with his life, being able to watch his children grow up and be a great grandfather... I would be happy too... I pray that he will not have to suffer much longer...

---

Just received a call from my father, they are all at the hospital now, things don't look good... Now I really feel man are so helpless when death comes knocking...

Who is Ken Lee??

I have to share this....
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_RgL2MKfWTo

Anyone want to use this for the next Singapore Idol? LOL

Annoyed ~

I am annoyed today...

#1 Now even blogspot has been blocked in my office...zZz. Might as well just block everything, like my friend put it... the default page when you open the browser is the Forbidden page. Don't understand why they need to be so .... liddat -.- No Facebook, Friendster, Gmail, Blogspot, all the major IM clients and even Singapore Pools @#$%. I agree with Qi, perhaps people will waste more time trying to get around this instead of working. What's wrong with a little bit of social networking at work? Bad for morale, think blogspot was the last straw... WAKE UP whoever that is behind this idea!!

#2 Imagine giving someone a lift and the person is on the phone the whole time... have to say I am a little annoyed -.-, but don't get it wrong, not angry though, just annoyed. But nevermind I will forget it soon! 说了就算了!^^

----

I got like 3 or 4 draft posts... will try to put them up today or tomorrow. Oh tomorrow busy whole day with my friend's wedding, gotta wake up at 5+ am... should I sleep tonight?? keke

IT Fair 2008

Yes!! The IT Fair starts today. A bunch of us at work went down to Suntec during lunchtime to see see look look ^^ Already quite a fair bit of people but I expect will be even worse come the weekend! This year is really big, 4 levels worth of booths. Think the big brands like Sony, Panasonic are going out all this year, heaps of exhibits from them.

The bottom 2 levels are like dominated by Panasonic and Sony. I did not see the Panasonic one but passed by the huge Sony show area, showcasing PS3, their Bravia line of LCD TV, their VAIO notebook...you get the picture! The next level is all about laptops, tv and consumer electronics (even fridges...). Briefly walked around and headed up to the last level where they sell the normal IT stuff. Lots of booths, though majority still from big brands plying their product. I was disappointed to only see a small number of booths selling assorted computer parts.

Well I am there with a mission too! (See my earlier IT Roadmap post) Unfortunately I did not find the NAS product I wanted from Qnap. I must say again I was disappointed there's not a lot of booth specialising in storage, perhaps not that popular with general consumer yet.

Anyway I did ended up buying another brand which I considered before, the DLink DNS-323, and a 500GB Western Digital harddisk to go with it. Also bought a Gigabit network switch and 2 Gigabit network card from DLink as well to upgrade my network since the DNS-323 is also Gigabit enabled. Hopefully with the Gigabit network the performance would not be too bad! Ok for those who now is already lost... most of the standard network connection now is 100Mbps, Gigabit is 1000Mbps, 10x faster ^^

Total damage ... 500+ but I am a HAPPY MAN! Well I am not the biggest spender yet... one of the guys bought a Nikon SLR (well over 1k..) and 2 bought a 40" Bravia LCD (over 3k...) Will chronicle my experience setting up the devices in my next post.

My IT Roadmap

IT Fair 2008 is just a few days away.

I been thinking what I need from there and decided to focus on enabling digital media streaming in my house. That means I want to access my digital media like mp3 songs, mpeg videos, jpg pictures on my PC from my home entertainment system and TV in my living room (or anywhere else)

This picture will give you an idea....

At this day and age digital media is very widespread, pictures from digital cameras, songs downloaded online etc.

Most of the time they reside on your PC and can only be played on the computer. It will be very cool if you can access these not only via your PC, imagine how that will impress your guests ^^

This can be further extended to have the ability to record TV programs and store them for future playback.

To acheive this I have come up with a list of to dos

1. Get a Network Attached Storage (NAS) - a central repository to store all media so it can be accessed by all computers/device on the network (as opposed to storing on 1 PC, think network drive)

2. Upgrade network to Gigabit - so I can transfer large files faster. I do video editing at home, so files greater than 1 GB are common. Don't want to wait ages for it to be transfered to the NAS. Need a Gigabit switch and network cards.

3. Get a wireless card for my XBOX360 and configure it to be able to pull media from the NAS and send it to the TV or home entertainment system.

4. Get a new HDTV, preferably Full HD - so my nice XBOX graphics wouldn't be wasted! :P

Any sponsors?? ... *ahem* birthday come soon... keke

Chilling at MoS!

Finally I went to MoS on Friday, dunno how long after it opened!

Supposed to meet DXJ for dinner first before heading there but she's still busy working. Haven't seen her since she changed job, she is like so busy nowadays. However never hear her complain so she must be happy ^^ Anyway I went home to eat then picked her up after ard 9.30pm in cab, din drive cuz want to drink!

Met up with her friend Kathy over at MoS, turned out she's also DXJ's secondary schoolmate, so practically we are all alumi LOL (I was their senior) Quite packed at Clarke Quay as usual on a Friday night, we went in ard 10+. Free entry thanks to my HSBC card wohoo! Credit cards do come in handy sometimes haha :P

My first time in MoS so took a look around, quite a mega clubbing place as I expected. Checked out a couple of the rooms, we chilled with a couple of drinks and games at '54' on Level 2 playing retro music. Crowd starting to pour in as the night got later, have to say the crowd's good :) After we went downstairs to 'Smoove' or the cage room cuz in the middle is a cage where the dance floor is. This is the HAPPENING room playing R&B hip hop with the most ppl and quite a young crowd. We managed to find a spot and had a couple more drinks and play some more games while grooving to the music.

I was like getting high already on drinks. Oh yeah DXJ bought me a Barcardi 151 drink! It was like drinking... just alcohol! (it was 75.5% alcohol by volume...) I got like alcohol fume pouring out of my nose and my throat was like drying up after the shot. I think this is the first and last time I am gonna have this, unless I want to get high fast haha. They kept wanting to get me another shot! zZz heng never otherwise I think I might just conc, omg what aus there on the spot! Overall I think I had Vodka Lime, Apricot Brandy, B52, Barcardi 151 and Long Island Tea! Shiokkkkkkkkk

The dance floor was super crowded in Smoove but we managed to get in a little action before we left ard 1.45am. Headed over to Hooters where DXJ was craving for her chicken wings with beer but unfortunately last order was over :P She was like a bit pissed cuz she's been saying she wanted to eat this all night haha, so we walked all the way to Raffles Place Mac and treated both to some MacWings, better than nothing right? keke

Took a cab and sent DXJ and Kathy home, lucky all stay West side. Darn the increase in taxi fare, I can pump half a tank with the taxi cost to and fro. Anyway thanks DXJ and Kathy for a great time at MoS! Next stop.... SJPS!!

Mazda6 Test Drive

Continuing from the previous post... I went to test drive the new model Mazda6 at the Mazda showroom at Bukit Timah. When I mention to other they say "Mazda again?", I guess doesn't really matter of you really like the drive and Mazda is one of the better Japanese brand around in terms of quality. My Mazda3 can attest to that :)

The car has quite a nice body styling and resembles the Lexus IS250. Comes in both 2.0L and 2.5L version, with the 2.5 having more interior frills but there unfortunately there wasn't any on display. Went for a short spin, the drive is pretty smooth and quiet. Even though it's quite a big car it's pretty light on the steering. However I still think my Mazda3 looks bit sportier heh :P

Now comes the most important question, PRICE. The 2.0 sports model I am looking at costs nearly 90k... the premium of being first to drive a new model. Comparatively speaking it is still cheaper than when I got my car, I paid like only 10k less... zzz. That's why I think still cannot change car haiz, I bought too high and if I sell back now I still need to fork out over 10k to cover the car loan. Oh well, try again next year!

Comp Day!!

Comp day is finally here! Although I am on leave today (and tomorrow), went back to office to get my letter from boss. Wore very casual, tees and bermudas lol, cuz afterward go gym mah :P Got about 7% increase in my base pay, which I think is quite ok and inline with market expectation (Of cuz always wish is more right?) But what surprises me is my bonus, it's...lot more than I expected! NOT COMPLAINING! LOL ^^ Hope every year also like this keke.

The meeting with boss only took like 10 mins but had to settle some issues so left only about 11am. Hit the gym for an hour or so then went to have lunch. Everyone I asked to have lunch all not available -.-, Qi got lunch appt already, TT still catching zzz (not surprised...) and the last one pon teng work AGAIN (not surprised either lol :P) So in the end eat alone haizz...

Anyway idle till almost three then went to see the dentist at Park Mall. Last min book de, cuz thought since here already and got time why not go see. Eh most importantly, cost is covered keke, might as well right? It's been ages since I been to the dentist for checkup, so had a bit of cleaning to do. It was... an agonizing 15 mins while she was cleaning the teeth, quite painful sometimes. I think I grabbed the cushion so hard I may have left a mark :P Dentist told me I wasn't cleaning my gums properly so now it's inflamed and *ahem* taught me how to brush properly. Eh it is totally different from what we learn at school! (so cannot blame me...) She said forgot those cuz it is wrong! oO

Alright think long enough, went to test drive the Mazda6 too, more in the next post...

---

Oh yeah... Ah Meng died :( Although I only know her by reputation it is still a sad loss for the Zoo. Read that it is widely reported around the world and thousands of people attended the funeral at the zoo. Din realised she is so well loved, Rest In Peace Ah Meng...

Chinese New Year

Hope everyone had a good new year day! I was extremely bz as well, as usual! Out from morning till night, cannot help it, I got a big extended family. Sometimes really scare of the first day, is eat eat eat all the way, from this house to that house. But nevermind, I missed my grandma's soup, can get to taste it again :)

Another thing we do on CNY is... yes gambling! But dunno why I don't play that much these years, probably cuz more young kids playing? haha. Anyway played some 4cards (si-ki) and Blackjack, hmmm think my luck still not bad haha. Must remember to buy the Ang Bao toto draw. So tired concussed at 11pm that day sia... think old le, last time will still be gambling away hahaha.

Later going see see the new model Mazda6 and also have breakfast keke. Hopefully see can get a test drive and maybe will write more about it after ^^ Have a superb weekend everyone!

恭喜发财,新年快乐!

Happy Chinese New Year!!

So fast today is CNY eve already! Been busy trying to clear my work these 2 days, today a bit no mood to work lol (actually last two days too :P)

Accompanied TT to get her new Sony Ericsson W960i on Monday evening. Also a PDA phone, looks quite sleek but after playing with it seems bit slow. Think she also having 2nd thoughts but what to do paid already, 700 bucks somemore. Just now was telling me the battery doesn't even last a day. Asked her to check back with the shop and possibly get a new battery replaced. Hope you get used to the phone soon! ^^

A colleague was just telling us how Pizza Hut give his credit card back to another customer who promptly sign and left. Shows nowadays the merchant dun really check the signature on the card! He was so pissed off cuz he had to wait for over an hour for Pizza Hut to settle the mess. They told him the customer was going to come back but in the end did not and somemore used his card in another shop for 200+, he only found out when he call the bank later. I think i will be very very angry with Pizza Hut if that happened to me, so people PLEASE CHECK YOUR CARD before you keep it!

Ok time to go home, wishing everyone a HAPPY AND PROSPEROUS YEAR OF THE RAT! This year suppose to be good for Snakes, let's see on my comp day hahaha. Enjoy!!!

Getting to Know ~ Aries

Since I mentioned about Aries... here's more

Aries love compliments and tend to gravitate towards unrestricted, lively people. They are outgoing and active. If you plan a date with an Aries, be prepared to stay out late and have some fun, as they are filled with energy, and love excitement.

Generally, they like to think of themselves as intellectuals, therefore, the best way to excite an Aries is to approach them on a intellectual level. They are aggressive and passionate.

However, be forewarned that an Aries has a tendency to be jealous and when in love, wants quite a bit of your time, if not all of it.

They love to be asked for their advice and will give you as much time, guidance, and sympathy that you need. Their advice is usually given straight forth and without hesitation. Although they are frank and candid, an Aries will gladly share their opinions with you.

An absolute definite way to end a relationship with an Aries is to start dictating or even more so, dominating them. They hate it. In addition, never give them orders. Not only do they not take orders well, but most likely they won't even listen.

Known to be independent, the Aries will be a trustworthy, loyal and exciting partner.

--

Probably now you know Aries slacks at work too LOL :P

If you love someone...

Came across this and thought I will share it, by the way I read somewhere the goal of an Aries is to "find the true meaning of selfless love" ^^ Read and reflect ba...

If you love some one because you think that he or she is really gorgeous ...
then it's not love .. it's ~ Infatuation ~......

If you love some one because you think that you shouldn't leave him because others think that you shouldn't ... then it's not love.. it's ~ compromise ~.......

If you love some one because you think that you cannot live with out his touch .... then it's not love.. it's ~lust~......

If you love some one because you have been kissed by him ... then it's not love.. it's ~ inferiority complex~......

If you love some one because you cannot leave him thinking that it would hurt his feelings .. then it's not love.. it's ~charity~....

If you love some one because you share every thing with him ... then it's not love... it's ~friendship~...

but if you feel the pain of the other person more than him even when he is stable and you cry for him ... that's ~LOVE~ =

if you get attracted to there people but stay with him without any regrets ... that's ~LOVE~

If you let him go knowing that he has to go but he doesn't want to ... that's ~LOVE~

BBQ@East Coast

Tiring Saturday! Went to the Zoo in the morning cuz friend has free passes from his company. Din take any pictures cuz my camera was spoiled.

Anyway straight after the Zoo chiong to East Coast Park at 4pm for BBQ with my bunch of "blood brothers" colleagues haha. Actually nightlife.sg is organising it and we just paid money to tag along. It wasn't too bad, all the food is preped for you, just have to cook them. Damage is about $28 a person, and I suspect half or more of this is actually for the booze lol. We were saying if we take the total cost I think enought to rent a Costa Sand chalet for 1 night... maybe we will try that next time!

Pity it ended quite early, all left ard 7+pm. Unfortunately no subsequent activities, zZz... and someone too lazy to come out play DDR, keke. Hope everyone had a great weekend!

Yummy chicken wings and satay!

At the jetty

Yet another shot at the jetty

Dreaming of you

This is an old song, just wanna share it with you guys if you hadn't heard it before. Tragically, the singer is no longer with us, she was shot dead by her manager when she found out he's been taking her money... This is going out to all the people who is missing someone in their life...

Close Shave!!!

I nearly had an accident just now... rather I nearly knocked someone. It was on the street behind Park Mall, between YMCA and the church. It was a teenage girl at the traffic light, I have just turned out from the carpark and just went over this little hump of a hill before the lights.

Not sure if she's dreaming or perhaps did not see properly, she stepped off the curb barely 5m in front of me. I can't really remember what I was thinking then, I guess reflex just took over and I had to swerved hard to the right to avoid hitting her while blasting my horn. Due to the distance there is no chance I can brake in time... luckily there was no oncoming cars in the opposite lane.

Just after I swerved I thought, did I get the lights wrong? I turned and checked the traffic light... it was GREEN. So it's her who ran the lights and not me, I did not stop but move ahead slowly while turning to look at her. She dashed across the road and gave a little apologetic wave. On hindsight perhaps I should have stopped and maybe get out of the car and give her a good talking to.... Thank god no one is hurt!

----

Problem really like to come at the last minute [and on a friday too]! Just when I was ready to call it a day, got an email from support regarding a problem user is facing. Bo bian, better solve it ASAP. Luckily, after rounding up some of the guys, we managed to find why this is happening and how to get around it pretty fast. Sometimes these problem can be hard to find the cause! Hopefully dun get more before CNY... let me have some peace to finish my other work...

Free Lunch ^^

Phew finally the presentation is over! The one I been preparing for almost the whole of the last week and week before. Actually didn't really prepare much also, did all the slides the night before and rehearse on the morning of the presentation keke.

Did not read the presentation book but think I did OK, "winged" it all the way! Our department director was there and got a "good job" from him lol. Actually he challenged our team one day before to do the presentation without powerpoint, but we decided it was just too hard to do it in 1 day! Although we try to not put too much word on the slides and talk most of the time, I have to say we are the most "entertaining" presentation out of the 3 teams keke.

Judging by the very last minute work we did, I am happy we got 2nd place :P. The prize is, you can guess... free buffet lunch at Meriden Hotel. Actually the last team has to treat the first team and boss treat the 2nd team ^^ Bottom line is, NO NEED PAY MONEY! haha

Me and CF at the buffet ~Cheers~

Jumping Rwabbit ^^

Ok stumbled across this site and meaning to post this link but keep forgetting. For those who like fluffy jumping rabbits and oh yeah bells ^^... click here

Heard from the radio...

that Jan is traditionally the month where most divorces are filed. A lawyer firm in Britain recently commissioned a survey about 2000 couples and got a very surprising (shocking) result. It's like

- half the couples survey stay married because of the children (otherwise they would have splitted)
- 59% of the woman wanted to get a divorce but stayed because of financial dependency
- only 1 in 10 are happy in the marriage

I was surprised too, recently it seems like love is so hard to keep , at least for them Europeans. I hope it isn't so bad for us here in Asia!

To quote the DJ..

"After marriage, the wife wants the husband to change, but he doesn't; the husband wants the wife to remain the same, but she doesn't."

Do you agree? People do change as they grow, no denying that... it's how the couple need to grow to accept these changes and work things out. I know a friend who is going through a rough patch now, I hope everything will turn out well for her this year and that she will find happiness soon again!

I can't see Cbox in Office T_T

It's back to work today, man my weekend ain't long enough! Both days have family dinner events have to attend, means less time for my own stuff! Trying to get used to my hair color LOL, I think with gel it ain't so bad (opps I mean obvious :P)

They blocked cBox access in my office, argghh *sobz*. Now have to wait till I go home to be able to see... so sianzzzzzzz. Can't wait for this weekend, got a BBQ at East Coast on Saturday... perhaps clubbing after LOL, been a while!

Oh yar bought a new LCD monitor yesterday for my other computer, the old LCD screen dying already. $299 for a 20" Widescreen, I think value for $$ ^^, maybe see how much bonus I get, going to upgrade the system too keke.

Fabulous 2008 ~

I have to recommend this CD I got last weekend, Fabulous 2008. IT ROCKSSS!
A non-stop dance remix from Singapore's very own DJ George Leong from SJPH and Zouk fame. Very nice, has 2 of the 3 songs I recommended so far on the blog ^^

Busy busy weekend

Yesh it has been one busy weekend so far, see what time I posted this. LOL no lah was playing audi keke. Everyone seems to be playing the new ballroom mode, zZz, so decided to update blog instead.

So I continued my "shopping spree" yesterday at Suntec. First time been there after they reno the place, more shops now (where Marche used to be) Finally bought my top, actually bought like 4 pcs, 1 from Dockers and 3 from Report Collection haha :P they are all so nice! I think I scared myself when I go shopping, I really can buy, heng I don't go often. Think that's it lah, no more buying le! Spend like nearly $400 in total already on cloths...

Saturday was damn packed, got my mio installed in the morning. Whole room is in a mess cause I was pulling wires here and there, still in a mess, must clean up tomorrow... take this chance to do some spring cleaning ba!

After than send car for servicing, this is for 70k service but my meter only just hitting 65k. Maybe I should delay my next service... Need to wait about an hour and a half so cabbed down to Westmall sit sit and wait. Finally completed my Heroes season 2 over there ^^V, really short, only 11 episodes. WATCH IT! US Writers please go back to work! I wanna watch season 3 soon!

After collecting the car went to my usual salon at Lot 1 to have my hair cut for CNY. Guess what...I got my hair highlighted! LOL been ages since I did something to my hair. Feels a bit funny, like beng like that haha. It did not take too long, think I only spend about an hour or so in the saloon nia, so tired fell asleep abit when waiting for the color to settle, keke.

Qi hope your lappy gets better soon! Never see you at all today (even recently) in audi, no one to play with recently! HAIZZ

2007 Appraisal

Had a appraisal meeting on Tues with my line manager for WY2007. It was... better than I hoped? LOL! OK I got a B+, I think it is good, at least for myself. I don't really know about the rest of my colleagues, don't think anyone will openly talk about their appraisal result keke.

Boss told us that everyone starts off with B- then everyone at the same level is ranked against each other at the unit level, then at the department level and so on to get the final grade. Again this is kinda of the same way my previous company does performance appraisal which in my opinion may be inaccurate. You may be a fantastic worker but still get a B or even C simply because not many other bosses knows you or just that your boss can't fight for you!

As the ranking happens higher up the hierarchy, it is your boss (or boss' boss) that will have to fight for your ranking against other bosses. So like I said in my earlier post, exposure does matter, if other bosses do not know you, how they try to bring you up? There will still be some truth if I were to say "the one with the loudest voice will most likely win", hmm so I need to find a boss who talks the loudest and have the most clout. haha!

All said, I also can't think of a better or fairer way to grade performance but hey I dun study HR keke. Now is wait to see how many months of bonus this B+ translate to... and also increment!! Will only know on Feb 11, which is apparently known as "Comp Day", keeping my fingers crossed!

CNY Shoppin@Orchard

Sorry for the long break! I have been quite busy this week with work. Just completed a part which took the last couple of days, pretty pleased I am able to complete it faster than I expected. Continuing back from last weekend...

--

Sunday was SHOPPING DAY! Decided to shop at Orchard, it's been a long time (can't remember when is the last time) since I shopped over here. Parked over at Park Mall (cuz I got season parking there) and decided to walk towards Orchard. Initial plan was to walk and shop all the way to Orchard station then take the MRT back to Dhoby Ghaut, in the end after 4 hrs only lasted till Centrepoint! LOL remember last time still can walk the how stretch, sign of age catching up? keke

WoW again

After 3 months of absence, I have decided to go back to the land of Azeroth in the game World of Warcraft. Get to know a colleague playing on another server so I decided to start a new character afresh there (and of course I couldn't resist the lure of having a sugar daddy in there..."here's 100g for you to get started" XD)

I have decided to track the development of my character here. She is a Draenei shaman and her name is Shatral. She's only level 25 now and recently her super power level 70 sugardada has been helping her farm a dungeon. That's why you see she is sooo sekssyy now, with most of her equipment being rare (blue items) ^^. I am trying to collect a whole blue item set called Embrace of the Viper, have everything except the belt! You can check her out at the WoW Armory!

Let the Post begin!

Alright the challenge has been issued, a post-a-thon, just you and me Qi, 1 on 1, uno vs uno, okie I think you get the idea LOL. Post check, eh miss serial poster has posted 5 posts in the last 2 days, things are not looking good for me, RAWRR!

Today is car grooming day, in case you wondering how come Ed still got time to come write on his blog is because... someone else is doing the grooming DUH! :P I am now sitting at Ya Kun's sipping my Teh'O-bing and writing this (and praying my battery will last!)

Dun be surprise if you see a couple of posts today from me (hey I need the numbers!). Finally I have some time to make the blog nicer, I hope!

Enjoy your weekend people! :)

Is exposure important?

OK this not about indecently exposing myself (or anyone for that matter)!

I am talking about exposure in the sense of raising your profile within your work place so like the bosses/upper management knows of you or at least that you exist. I was chatting with a colleague of mine whom I just gotten to know is leaving the company soon, for greener pastures no doubt heh. We are talking about this because another colleague and myself is supposed to do a presentation in 2 weeks time for the monthly unit meeting and he says we must be well prepared because it would be good exposure for us to our director.

He has even suggested us to read a book on how to present effectively, but I guess I just can't be bothered! Bad or not? LOL. I told him I think I will just "wing" it, I believe my current presentation skill still can cut it :P

Realistically I have to agree with him exposure is important. Imagine a big company, so many people going for promotion but in the end who are those that are promoted? You have to agree that those who are "visible" to the bosses, those who "get noticed" will more likely get it! If the person is really good at their work, I can say they deserve it. What annoys me most sometimes are those who only knows how to talk (in front of the bosses) but actually does nothing, the all "talk and no work" type. To most bosses they are just as visible, unfortunate but it's working life!

Sadly I am not so much into the work socialising scene, seldom join the big bosses for drinks or whatever minggling session, prefer to do my own things! Man this is not looking good for Resolution no. 4 haha. I believe if I were to be put into a socialising situation it will not be a problem for me at all (confident sia :P) but I guess it's my character that I am not proactive about it. Like I told my colleague who happens to be like me, it's all about changing the mindset... which I am happy to leave as it is now :)

Raining again now, wonder if I can switch to my sleeping mindset -zZz-

Want to live longer?

Heard from the radio today, someone did a survey on a group of people over a 10 year period. People in the group will live on average 14 years longer if they

1. exercise more
2. eat more vege and fruits
3. drink less
4. smoke less

Well yeah nothing new right but just serves to show it is true! I think I am on the right track keke.. but hmm do i want to live so long? So my dear readers you all know to do ah LOL, otherwise no readers in the last 14 years XD. Add 1 more to your New Year resolutions, take good care of yourselves! (you know who you are ^^)

BTW just bought 4D on my car number, pray pray pray...

Fug Fug Fug @#$

I got into an accident today!!! Ok very minor one, my car rear bumper and a pole ARRGH! Happened at DXJ's place, she went to pick up her watch at Heeren and so I sent her home after. After dropping her off at her block I moved into reverse gear and moved back, suddenly a sickening crunch and I thought, "OH SHIT" x 10. I had langah into this stupid post, damn carpark was too dark to see and it's a thin pole so the sensor din sound @#$#!!

Quickly got out of the car and check, luckily bumper still there. It was too dim there to see much so only inspected closely after I reached home. The rear bumper was made of acrylic (plastic) and it managed to pop back into shape after the collision. I was like thinking thank god it din break or it din hit the body of the car, which is metal and sure to be dented. From far the bumper still looks fine, but there's like a crease mark at the position where it hit the pole. Imagine u take a smooth piece of paper and fold it, after u smoothen it there's this crease mark where u folder it, this is wat happen to my bumper!

I should have listened to DXJ and drop her at the MRT, haiz NEVERMIND it's my own fault I should not blame anyone :P Although car quite a few small dents and scratches (non my fault, all other people!!), still quite xim tia! That's it, betting $10 4D on my carplate number all 3 times this week le! That's it lah if strike tao pio... IS250 here I come! Rawwr!!

Eastside Weekend

Spent Friday and Saturady night over at a friend's chalet at Aranda Country Club which is just next to Downtown East. Been a long time (a couple of years?) since I was at Downtown East and things have really changed. There's now more shops and they are even building a big shopping center right next to it!

Oh yeah and also Wild Wild Wet which I went on Saturday ^^ I think also the first time for me (yes yes super mountain tortoise :P) if I remember correctly, last time I came there's only the Escape theme park. It was quite fun but I think there's not too many rides! I think my favorite is the one called Slide Up, macham like the Viking boat but then you are on a rubber raft for 2 instead of a boat. You carry (yes carry yourself) the big raft up to about 3 storeys high and then launched off this U shaped ramp. The slope is almost vertical and damn thrilling, but it's too short, over in a min or so!

It was a good day though, partly overcast so not that hot. But even so body still turned red after the session! Hoho I know what you want Qi but better not later tio banned by Blogger keke, just think of those Spartans in 300 :P

Came back home on Sunday feeling really tired, even napped in the afternoon (very very rare LOL). Watched the Italian Job on Channel 5 then concussed straight after keke (eh actually slept thru most of the last parts too -.-) Dun feel like going to work today!!! Rawwr!

Shilin XXL Crispy Chicken da best ~

Met DXJ yesterday after work for Ben & Jerry @ Cathay. She had to get some stuff at Raffles City so met me after to hitch a ride home. I got so hungry waiting for her that I bought a pack of XXL Crispy Chicken from the Shilin stall at B1. Been a while since I had it, still da best!

DXJ just found a new job over at an oil MNC and is now serving her notice period. I guess if you are not happy at your workplace you should leave and I am glad she found something else, MNC should be good, I heard the bonus is... cao cao 4 mths type! She told me her new boss is taking the team to Bintan the week she's joining, so SHIOK! I heard the company is very good to it's staff, when I was with my old company (consulting), I had a friend who was on a project with this company and they actually flew him from Singapore to Switzerland just for a weekend ski trip with the rest of the team from the company! OMG so envious, I wanna go skiing too!

Okie sshh I am supposed to be working, you never see me here... Thinking of hitting the gym later, but feel so nua. Haven't been going much the past week cuz of the public holidays (excuses!, remember Resolution 1!!!)

Highstreet 5

Eh thank you -ice- for your comments, 2 some more ah :P Be patient there will be more posts to come!

My friend told me about this new dancing game like Audition call Highstreet 5. Think is made by a local company (not Jap or Korean at least!). I decided to download the game and check it out. Spend the entire weekend trying to download the installer, abt 1.4G. So annoying the download always get cut halfway and server does not support resume! Tried downloading from eMule and torrent but is even slower. In the end gave up and went to buy the installation DVD, only for 2 bucks I think it's cheaper than the time I spend trying to download LOL

Installed the game, patch and run. Ok whoever designed the login screen, it sucked! I had to take quite a while to figure out where to click to bring out the login @#$!. By the way registering is much simpler than Audi!

Ok finally managed to login to the game. I have to give 2 thumbs up to the graphics, it is great! Really a 3D environment where you can pan the camera around your avatar. The game world is so pretty too. There's no more game rooms like in audi, only dancing areas. Each area has its own unique dancing style (e.g. hip hop, reggae etc) and speed range. Just join an area, pick a spot and join the game, no more waiting!!. The DJ just keep spinning the songs and you do compete against all the player in the hall, I think you can request songs but I never tried to do it yet. The songs are mainly English and Mandarin, I believe got Jap and Korean too but I have yet to explore that hall. Have to say the songs are quite the latest and nice too!

Dance mode are similar to Audi's, Single, Battle (against another player of your choice), Group and Lover. I have only tried Single so far, 8k is also available to those with deft fingers ^^. Dancing wise also very similar, press the arrows and hit the spacebar. I have to say it is very easy to perf and chain here. However FM here is call stunts and they can only be performed when certain conditions are met; your hype bar is full and you have enough stamina. Performing stunts consume stamina but gives you more score (obviously) and makes you look pro too. Took me a while to figure out how to do the stunt too, think got a bug with the stunt tutorial, keep crashing halfway through. Oh yeah, there are different variety of stunts and you gotta buy them with your points.

Ok enough said, here are some screenshots (this is what you been waiting for right? keke) Will update more once I explore more of the game! If you like Audi, you can consider trying this out!

The is the game world

That's me, looks like Nicolas Tse dun you think?

Did I tell you it's very easy to perf and combo?
